The George J. Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State held its 40th anniversary event this week, “Stigler in the 21st Century.” The event brought together academics and intellectuals to discuss George Stigler’s legacy as well as current research on the role of private markets in promoting human welfare and the role that legal infrastructure has on market performance.
