Vincenzo Scrutinio

Vincenzo Scrutinio is an assistant professor at the University of Bologna. He is an applied economist with interest in policy evaluation in particular in the fields of labour and public economics. His work aims at understanding the impact of benefits and subsidies in a causal framework by using econometric tools and large administrative datasets. He is affiliated with IZA and CEP research Centre of The London School of Economics. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Health Economics and Labour Economics.

In a survey of nearly 400 European firms that export abroad, Elena Argentesi, Livia De Simone, Stephan Paetz, Vincenzo Scrutinio find that most firms believe that competition forces them to produce cheaper and higher quality products and services, allowing them to be more competitive in foreign markets.
