Amrit Amirapu

Amrit Amirapu is an Economist and Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the University of Kent. He has a PhD in Economics from Boston University, an MA from Columbia University, and a BA from Amherst College, where he studied physics and political philosophy. His present research interests span a range of topics in the field of development economics, including firm behavior, household behavior (including marriage customs and migration decisions), labor markets, institutions (especially legal institutions), and informality. He is a member of the Development Economics Research Centre at Kent, the Microeconomics Research Group, and the Macroeconomics, Growth and History Centre.
