Corruption, lobbyingcorporate malfeasance, and frauds: a weekly unconventional selection of must-read articles by investigative journalist Bethany McLean.

At the same time, income gains for women are at risk, because it turns out that working while homeschooling really doesn’t work. Who knew?! And yet, we’re all pretending that come the fall, it’ll all be OK. Welcome to the world of magical thinking.

Ok, optimism! Here’s a thoughtful take on what has gone wrong, and how maybe, just maybe, Covid might provide a chance to recalibrate, re-appreciate, and maybe, just maybe, get it right.
